FSSH student earns top marks and faculty medal
Communication and Digital Media Studies (CDMS) student Beverly Gary has been named the faculty medal recipient for the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities (FSSH). The university presents a faculty medal to one student in each of its six faculties who is graduating from an undergraduate program and has attained the highest cumulative grade-point average (CGPA) in the courses required for their degree. Beverly graduates with 4.14 CGPA and has demonstrated academic excellence, social awareness, and creative innovation throughout her time at Ontario Tech.
Beverly’s many accomplishments include her experiential work with the Grandview Kids Foundation as a social media communications specialist, her original research presentation at the National Communication Association’s Annual Convention in New Orleans, and her co-authored book chapter on feminist financial strategies in higher education. She also contributed to the Creators4Change Studio and produced numerous high-quality essays and multimedia projects exploring pressing questions in digital media studies. She exemplifies the social conscience, research excellence and creativity that define the CDMS program, and her achievements reflect the values of ethical and critical communication at the heart of Ontario Tech’s mission.
