Join a Community of Practice at the Teaching and Learning Centre

Hosted by the Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC), ‘communities of practice’ allow members of the Ontario Tech community to come together to address shared concerns, problems or interests, and collaborate on individual and group goals.

Who can participate in TLC’s communities of practice?

  • Ontario Tech instructors, teaching assistants and staff are welcome.

How often do the communities meet?

  • Communities meet monthly. Online course sites are also available for interactions between meetings.

What topics are covered?

  • The TLC currently facilitates two communities of practice:
    •  Generating ideas, seeking feedback, and sharing resources and stories related to Indigenizing and decolonizing content, instructional approaches, and interactions.
    •  Exploring guidelines for implementing UDL principles, inclusive instructional design, instructional multimedia design, and accessible instruction to reduce barriers in any learning environment.

Registration is always open for both groups. Visit the links above for details.
